In honor of International Credit Union Day® on October 20 and as a reminder of the value of your membership, click on these five common myths to see the truth about credit unions.
According to the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), 25% of credit union members don’t know they are member-owners—not customers—of their financial institution.

Losing Everything Leads to New Beginnings
Longtime friends Justin Harwood and Richard Holm suffered significant losses in the recession of 2007. But a few years ago, they rallied together and bought Premier Pools and Spas, a pool franchise in St. George, Utah.
As a new business, they struggled to get the support they needed from a large financial institution to grow their company. Then they turned to Mountain America.
