RV insurance offers a range of protection levels. Consider the following options to determine which ones are right for you:

  • Full timers—If you use your RV as your permanent residence more than six months out of the year, you'll want to get a full timers plan. It’s similar to homeowners insurance, but it's for your RV.
  • Vacation liability—This plan provides financial protection from accidents or injuries that happen around your RV when parked at a campsite or temporary residence.
  • Emergency expense—If your RV is damaged while you're traveling, this plan helps pay for hotel and other lodging/travel expenses.

RV insurance FAQs

How much is RV insurance?

The cost of RV insurance varies and is dependent on a handful of factors, including:

  • The model, type and age of the RV.
  • If you live in your RV full time or use it for occasional trips only.
  • Which RV insurance policy you choose.
  • Your driving history, including past accidents and insurance claims.
  • Your age.
  • Your credit score.

Does RV insurance cover water damage?

Different RV insurance policies cover different things. If you need a policy that includes water damage, our full timers RV insurance policy will provide the coverage you need. Speak with a Mountain America insurance advisor to ensure you have the right policy for your needs.

Is RV insurance required?

Most states require minimum liability coverage if your RV is a motorhome that you don’t own outright. If your RV is towable, like a travel trailer, then the liability coverage from your auto insurance policy should extend to your camper.

It is important to protect the asset you are purchasing should an unfortunate event occur. At Mountain America, we require full coverage insurance on any type of RV you have financed with us.
