How a Utah Band Turned Music Into a Gift for Seniors

For years, Sidetracked has been sharing music and memories with seniors across Utah through free performances at retirement and senior living communities.

Made up of nine longtime friends, some of whom have known each other for more than 60 years, the band has dedicated its time and talents to bringing joy through familiar songs and sing-alongs. Their performances have become a source of connection, nostalgia and entertainment for thousands of seniors across the state.

The band recently marked its 100th volunteer concert, a milestone that reflects years of service to senior communities across Utah. In recognition of the band members' dedication, the Fox 13 Dream Team and Mountain America surprised the group with a $2,000 donation to help them continue sharing music and creating meaningful moments for seniors.

The recognition was a well-deserved celebration of a group that has spent years giving back through the power of music, demonstrating how a shared passion can brighten lives and strengthen communities.
