Dark red veins in sandstone

Every day, Ashley Barney pours her energy into caring for others—whether it’s at home, in the hospital or throughout her community. Recently, the tables turned when the FOX13 Dream Team, along with Mountain America Credit Union and Master AutoTech, showed up to give something back.

The surprise unfolded at Timpanogos Regional Hospital, where Ashley was greeted by family, coworkers and a few unexpected cameras. Her kids even helped bring the plan together, calling it their “spy mission.”

Ashley’s dedication to mental health and patient care has made her a standout on the hospital team. To celebrate that commitment, she received a basket of pampering gifts, theater tickets, $400 in gift cards, $500 in cash and a $1,000 contribution to The Children’s Center Utah, recognizing her dedication to supporting youth mental health.

Her brother nominated her for the honor, sharing how Ashley is always there for support, whether it's as a nurse, a mom or a friend. Hospital leaders echoed that sentiment, expressing their gratitude for her compassion and drive.

Ashley laughed as the moment sank in, admitting she thought she was just coming for a photo. Instead, she left with a reminder of how much her work—and her heart—matter.
