Honoring Deb Armstrong’s 25 Years of Service at Hartvigsen School
The Dream Team and Mountain America pay a visit to a special teacher.
For a quarter of a century, Deb Armstrong has been a guiding light at Hartvigsen School in Granite School District. As a dedicated special education teacher, she’s helped students with disabilities in building confidence and independence, while also offering unwavering support to their families.
Her impact was recently recognized by the FOX 13 Dream Team and Mountain America Credit Union, who surprised Armstrong with a heartfelt celebration. She received a gift basket filled with treats, tickets to Hale Centre Theatre, a new laptop and a $1,000 donation made to the school in her name.
Hartvigsen principal, Felicia Wood, nominated Armstrong for the recognition, highlighting her ability to connect families with resources and build a strong sense of community. “She has made such an amazing difference in the lives of our families and our students,” Wood said.
Armstrong shared that her greatest reward comes from seeing students succeed, especially when they find jobs in the community. Her work has helped shape a more inclusive environment at Hartvigsen, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and progress.
