Spreading Smiles for Miles: Honoring Jaymes Martinez and the W.O.W. Car Community | Dream Team

The Dream Team surprises Jaymes Martinez for his amazing contributions to his community.

For over five decades, the Willies Official Welcoming (W.O.W.) Car Community has lived by a simple motto: Spreading smiles for miles. It’s a tradition built on two passions—a love of classic cars and a commitment to giving back.

One of the people keeping that mission alive is Jaymes Martinez. For years, he worked alongside his father, founder of W.O.W., to help others by organizing charity car shows, delivering holiday meals and supporting families in need.

Sheri Jensen, a community member, shared how the club helped her through a heartbreaking loss. “They do so many fundraisers. My husband passed in December, and they have been nothing but amazing,” she says. “I want for nothing. If I need anything, I just make a phone call and I've got help.”

When Sheri needed help to pay for her husband’s headstone and burial costs, Jaymes organized an online car show and raffle to raise money.

Jaymes grew up watching his father serve the community through the car club. Now, and since his father’s passing, he has carried on the legacy with the same enthusiasm and love for classic cars. He proudly owns a 1980 Lincoln Continental Mark 6 with only 60,000 original miles. “It doesn’t drive, it floats,” he says.

To honor his generosity, the FOX 13 Dream Team and Mountain America Credit Union surprised Jaymes at the Last Blast of Summer Car Show in White City with:

  • A new set of tires for his Lincoln.

  • A car-detailing kit.

  • A $1,000 donation to support his charitable outreach.

“You have turned your passion into something serving the community. So, we want to serve you a little bit,” said Katie Ann Powell of Mountain America Credit Union.

Overcome with emotion, Jaymes thanked everyone who helped make the W.O.W. mission possible. Just like his father, he ended the day with a smile and the club’s motto: “Spreading smiles for miles!”
