Mountain America Foundation to Donate $28,000 to Nonprofits on GivingTuesday
Top voted nonprofits across the credit union’s six-state footprint will receive $1,000 each
On Oct. 23, 2023, the Mountain America Foundation will launch its 2023 GivingTuesday initiative. Designed to provide vital support to nonprofits, the initiative will donate a total of $28,000 to multiple nonprofits in the credit union’s six-state footprint.
Voting begins Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 11, and will be an opportunity for the community to have an active role in determining which local nonprofits will receive the donations. Mountain America members and nonmembers are invited to cast their vote for their preferred nonprofit by scanning a QR code at their closest branch location or by visiting Mountain America GivingTuesday
“The GivingTuesday campaign is a testament of our commitment to supporting the community and the incredible work being done by local nonprofits,” said Suzanne Oliver, vice president of government and community engagement at Mountain America Credit Union. “We are proud to donate $28,000 to these incredible nonprofits. We invite you to support these exceptional organizations by voting. Together, we are creating a brighter future for those in need.”
When the voting period concludes, all votes will be tallied. The nonprofit organizations with the highest number of votes in each area will be declared the winners. These grants will be awarded on GivingTuesday, which falls on Nov. 28.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 with a simple goal in mind: encouraging people to spread good to others across their community. Over the past 11 years, this idea has grown into a global movement, inspiring millions of people to be radically generous in their giving, collaborating, and celebrating generosity year-round.
The Mountain America Foundation, the credit union and its team members are committed to serving the community. The Foundation strives to partner with organizations that make a difference throughout the communities where the credit union serves.
“For nearly 90 years, Mountain America has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to helping our members define and achieve their financial dreams,” said Sharlene Wells, senior vice president of public relations and organizational communications at Mountain America Credit Union. “Our foundation is built on ‘people helping people’ and improving the communities our members call home. Supporting the Foundation’s efforts to local giving continues to be built on that solid foundation.”
