Payment Protection

Working for you
Ensure your loan payments are made in the event of illness, injury or job loss.

Rest easy with payment protection

Even the most responsible person can be hit with unpayable bills when unexpected illness, injury or death puts a paycheck out of the picture. Add Mountain America’s payment protection* to your vehicle loan or other obligations and feel secure knowing your loan and family are protected.

If you can’t work because of a covered event, payment protection in most cases will:

  • Make your monthly payments or pay off your loans
  • Protect your credit rating
  • Prevent late fees
  • Protect your family and possessions
  • Free-up extra cash
  • Pay benefits in addition to any other insurance you may have

Three types of coverage

  • Life—Pays the remaining loan balance in the event of your death
  • Disability—Makes monthly loan payments if you become sick, injured or disabled and are unable to work
  • Involuntary unemployment—In the event of job loss, makes payments for six months per occurrence, with a 12-month total benefit

Get payment protection

Payment protection is offered with most Mountain America loans. Cost is determined by your loan balance, not your age, and the premiums are included in your loan payment. For more information, visit a branch or call 1-800-748-4302.

*The purchase of payment protection is optional. Whether or not you purchase payment protection will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any existing credit agreement you have with Mountain America. There are eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions that could prevent you from receiving benefits under payment protection. You should carefully read the contract for a full explanation of the terms.
