How mobile checking deposit works, in 5 easy steps
If you can take a picture, you can deposit your check. It’s this easy:
- Open Mountain America’s mobile banking app.
- Select Mobile Deposit from the menu.
- Enter the deposit amount and choose your account.
- Use quick capture to automatically take photos of the front and back of your endorsed check.
- Get confirmation of your deposit.

Mobile deposit FAQs
Why are my funds on hold?
In general, mobile deposit funds will be held for one to two business days (excluding weekends and federal holidays).
How do I know when my funds will be available?
In general, $225 will be made immediately available for accounts in good standing. Some accounts may qualify for a higher amount.
Why did Mountain America change their mobile deposit policy?
The mobile deposit policy was changed to protect members from losses surrounding the increase in financial scams due to COVID-19. Many of our members are being targeted by scams to deposit “bad” checks that leave members with a negative balance. In nearly all of these scams, fraudsters are requesting the member’s username and password. As a reminder, Mountain America will never contact you to ask for your username, password or PIN.

2. In order to help prevent fraud, part of the deposit may be held until funds clear. New accounts (less than 90 days old) will have $225 available and the rest will be held for two business days. Immediate funds available will not exceed $500.
3. Mobile check deposits cannot exceed $5,000. Account balance must not be negative. Other restrictions apply.
