What is Overdraft Privilege (ODP)?

Overdraft Privilege (ODP) is a discretionary service provided for eligible accounts. It is designed to help guard against having items returned by the credit union. At MACU's discretion, each eligible account is provided a $750 Overdraft Privilege limit.

General membership and trust accounts are eligible after carrying a positive balance and meeting a 30-day waiting period; Business and organizational accounts after a 60-day waiting period. Child, Youth, Representative Payee, and Custodial accounts and any other special accounts are ineligible.

Other exclusions include, but are not limited to:

  • Members who have 30-day or greater past due loans with MACU.
  • Accounts with a zero or negative balance for more than 30 days.
  • Accounts with levies, garnishments or bankruptcies.
  • Dormant or inactive accounts.
