FAQs

Why are the credit unions merging?

The merger of Dugway Federal Credit Union and Mountain America Credit Union will provide members with:

  • A broader array of products and services
  • More technological tools like mobile banking and bill pay
  • More branches and ATMs

When is the merger?

April 1. You will receive more detailed information in the weeks leading up to the merger.

Will the branch close?

Yes. Unfortunately, the branch will close at the end of business on March 30. The nearest Mountain America branch is in Tooele. We also offer a variety of online and mobile banking options to help you stay connected to your accounts.

Will there be an ATM?

We are researching the logistics of providing ATM service at the base. We will know more in the near future.

Will my account number change?

Yes. You will receive more information about account numbers in the coming weeks.

Will I still have access to Overdraft Privilege?

Yes, but since Mountain America’s Overdraft Privilege coverage is slightly different from that of DFCU, you will need to complete a new Overdraft Privilege Opt-In Form on or after April 1, 2018. If you do not opt in, your debit card overdraft coverage will expire on March 31, 2018, and transactions may not be authorized if your account lacks sufficient funds.

To opt in, log in to Online Branch and select Overdraft Protection from the Accounts menu. You may also opt in at any Mountain America branch.

Will I get new credit/debit cards?

Yes. You will get a new Mountain America card with new numbers as we approach the merger date.

Will I receive new checks?

Yes. You will be able to order new Mountain America checks once we near the merger date.

Will my loan rate and term remain the same?

Your closed-end loan term, rate, payment and due date will remain the same. New credit card terms and rate information will be provided with your new card disclosure.

  • Extensive branch network—more than 90 branches across 5 states
  • Rewards checking
  • More credit card and loan options
  • Mortgage and home loans
  • More savings options
  • Mobile banking—mobile deposit, Card Manager, FICO® Score*
